Cabo San Lucas - Los Cabos Beaches

Lovers Beach (Playa del Amore) - Conde Nast magazine rated Lovers Beach as one of the 10 best beaches in Mexico. Los Cabos beaches are noted to be beautiful, & this is no exception. You can only reach this beach by boat or via a rock climb over rugged terrain. This Los Cabos beach is photographed on most ads of Cabo San Lucas & Lands End. At low tide you can pass through this famous arch called El Arco to the Pacific Ocean. the sea of Cortez side facing the bay is generally calm & safe for swimming & snorkelling.

Divorce Beach - a very dangerous beach to swim, but great for sunbathing, relaxing & a picnic. It is just on the other side of Lovers Beach.  There are strong currents and rip tides & strong waves in the area. It is recommended not to enter the water on this side.

Playa Solmar - Heavy surf and strong undertows makes this area a beach for sunbathing & leisurely strolls. It is a quiet area to relax & listen to the crashing waves. Access is only attained through the Hotel Solmar.  It is one of the most picturesque Los Cabos beaches.

Playa El Medano (Dune Beach) - is the most popular beaches in Cabo San Lucas. It runs several miles along the Bay of San Lucas and is one of the safest Los Cabos beaches for swimming and water sports. You can rent jet-skis or go parasailing off this beach. Weekends are crowded and it can be party central especially during Spring Break. There are venders selling their wares. As far as Los Cabos beaches go, this is the best people watching beach. There are palapa bars and restaurants to sip a cold cerveza and sample all types of Mexican cuisine.

Playa El Faro Viejo (The Old Lighthouse Beach) - This one of the Los Cabos beaches that is difficult to get to, but worth it. Towering sand dunes built by powerful tropical winds off the Pacific offer incredible views. It is possible to drive a normal vehicle most of the way to this  beache to the old light house. ATV's are no longer permitted.


Corridor - Los Cabos Beaches

Santa Maria Beach - this is one of the most beautiful Los Cabos beaches. It is a small bay next to the twin Dolphin Hotel. Located at KM 12, but the turn off is difficult to find and you follow a dirt road to the parking lot. Mid week is best for snorkelling and sunning as Sundays are crowded with locals. It is best to bring your supplies as there are no facilities or restaurants. You can snorkel & swim here. You can also access this lovely bay by boat. Various tour companies offer snorkel and diving tours and charters from Cabo San Lucas.

Chileno Bay - is located next to the Hotel Cabo San Lucas, is yet another breath-taking bay known for its diving and snorkeling. Look for the dive flag at the edge of the highway at Km. 15, which marks the parking entrance. Equipment rentals are available.

Playa El Tule - a secluded sandy stretch of beach can be a good surf spot at certain times of the year. Scattered boulders can be found in the surf and driftwood can be found up on the beach. Beach access is at Km. 16.2 at the Los Tules bridge. A four wheel drive vehicle may be needed to get across the sometimes soft sand of the arroyo.

Tequila Cove - is in front of the Meliá Cabo Real and the Hilton Los Cabos. This beach is safe for swimming and has created by a man-made breakwater. The easiest access is also through Hotel Meliá Cabo Real at Km 19.5.


San Jose Del Cabo - Los Cabos Beaches

Playa Costa Azul - For suburb surfing head for this beach near Las Olas and Mira Vista condos. The surf break north of the arroyo is known as Zippers and is for the more advanced surfer. Two breaks exist to the south - The Rock, and Old Man's. The Rock is best suited for intermediate surfers and the second Acapulquito Beach for beginners or long boarders. Hotel Beach - This mile long beach runs from the south side of the San Jose del Cabo estuary next to the Presidente Resort ending at the Las Mañanitas condo resort on the south.

Estuary Beach - Beginning at the East end of the Hotel Beach in San José del Cabo, you will find the areas treasured estuary. The freshwater lagoon has over three hundred species of wildlife, birds and lush vegetation.

La Playita - One of the newest beaches in the area, and is certainly one of its best. Playita Beach at Puerto Los Cabos features a safe, roped-off swimming area inside the harbor entrance, as well as a natural beach, where you can swim, skim-board, surf, or fish.
